FIU Miami Research Design Studios Showcase at Venice 2023 Architecture Biennial

Click here for more information The 'Time-Space-Existence' exhibition at the Venice 2023 Architecture Biennial, held at ECC Palazzo Bembo, features a unique display by the FIU Miami Research Design Studios. The exhibition, which runs from May 20 to November 26, 2023, highlights the innovative 'Generative AI-Bio Blue-Green-Structures 2023-2100' project. This display is the culmination of work by graduate, master's, and doctoral students from FIU, along with their multidisciplinary research team, spanning from Fall 2018 to Fall 2023. The project, which includes experimental design scenarios, videos, and a diverse array of research materials, showcases the contributions of over 140 FIU students and researchers. The exhibit and its accompanying publication focus on visionary future planning scenarios for Miami's vulnerable islands, employing generative AI-ML-assisted design workflows and projections extending to 2100 and beyond. Team Celebrates Win at African Property Awards for Sustainable Development in Rwanda 2023-2024

Click here for more information The 'African Property Awards for Sustainable Residential and Commercial Development for Rwanda 2023-2024' has honored a collaborative team for their work on the Vision City Phase 2 project. This carbon-neutral Master Plan covers a 42-hectare area, incorporating AI-ML-data-driven design and computer modeling to develop solar-powered residential units and mixed-use spaces. Key collaborations included Datumzero Design Office led by PI Guillermo Garita (spanning New York City, San Jose/CR, and Kigali), CND LCC Thomas Spiegelhalter and Associates (Miami-Berlin), CIEM (Alan Ocampo Guth) based in San Jose, Costa Rica, BA Ingeniería, and PPAR (Jose Vargas Hidalgo & Dana Víquez Azofeifa). The team is now preparing for future projects and seeking approval for the Solar Feed-In-Tariffs, marking a new chapter in sustainable space creation.

Click here for more information Final Month for 'Time-Existence-Space' Exhibition at Venice 2023 Architecture Biennial This is the last chance to visit the 'Time-Existence-Space' exhibition at the Venice 2023 Architecture Biennial. The event showcases generative design research and features global contributions. The exhibition includes completed and ongoing projects, proposals, and utopian architectural ideas. It offers a diverse array of works, including conceptual pieces, models, photographs, videos, sculptures, and site-specific installations. The exhibition encourages visitors to reconsider the relationship with space and time, proposing new living methodologies and architectural perspectives. Acknowledgment is due to Lorenzo Basadonna Scarpa, Giovanna D'Albertis, Carlotta Bondesan, and Paola Pepa for their significant assistance in transporting and setting up the exhibition. Their efforts in navigating customs for the 3D models and repairing exhibition pieces for the opening in May 2023 have been instrumental.

Click here for more information The European Cultural Centre (ECC) is pleased to present the sixth edition of its extensive biennial architecture exhibition titled Time Space Existence. The group show will open on the 20th of May and run until the 26th of November, 2023, at Palazzo Bembo, Palazzo Mora and the Marinaressa Gardens, in the heart of Venice, Italy. Press previews and opening events will take place in each location on the 18th and 19th of May, 2023. The 2023 edition of Time Space Existence will draw attention to the emerging expressions of sustainability in its numerous forms, ranging from a focus on the environment and urban landscape to the unfolding conversations on innovation, reuse and community.
